Brian Robinson has been the Manager of the Yale Symphony Orchestra since 2003, and is responsible for the production, personnel, finances and general day-to-day operations of the orchestra.
A composition major with a degree from the Mannes College of Music, Brian has written for a variety of genres from classical and children’s music to experimental art rock, soundtracks and circus music. Brian has had three of his orchestral works premiered by the YSO, and has frequently written arrangements for the YSO Halloween Show.
As classically-trained baritone, Brian has begun a modest opera career over the past six years, having performed as Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Der Sprecher in Die Zauberflöte, and Alberich in Wagner’s Ring Cycle. He also performs original rock music periodically under the stage name, Brian Ember.
