Apply for Assistant Conductor

1 Year (non-renewable)

Yale Juniors and Seniors Undergraduates who have studied conducting at or outside Yale. Please note this position is not for the beginner conductor. 

Selection process is via application, interview and audition. YSO Music Director’s decision is final. If no suitable candidates apply then the position will not be filled.

• Understudying all YSO programs.
• Conducting the YSO Halloween Show and assisting in music selection in conjunction with the Halloween Show Music Coordinator and Production team.
• Conducting some of the Undergraduate Composition Workshops.
• Conducting sectional rehearsals as required.
• Possibility of conducting select piece/s in concert at the discretion of the Music Director.
• Helping prepare music (bowings, phrasing, numbering etc) for each cycle of concerts.
