The 2025–26 season marks a significant chapter for the Yale Symphony Orchestra as we celebrate our 60th anniversary and welcome our new Music Director, Maestra Elizabeth Askren.
Programming will showcase the talents of our members and the broader Yale community with works from the Western classical tradition, music of the Americas, and contemporary voices from around the world.
Season highlights include:
- Symphonic masterpieces by Beethoven, Bellini, Debussy, Puccini, and Berlioz
- Performances by William Waite Concerto Competition winners Brandon Du with Sibelius’ Violin Concerto and Paul Ji with Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2
- A collaboration with the Yale Glee Club presenting José Maurício Nunes Garcia’s extraordinary Requiem
- Works by composers from the Americas, including Alberto Ginastera, Gabriela Lena Frank, John Adams, and Charles Ives
- Yale annual musical traditions including the epic Halloween concert and Messiah sing-along
- A special anniversary concert featuring guest artists and YSO alums
We look forward to sharing this season with our audiences, as we continue the YSO’s tradition of musical excellence and exploration.
